5th Annual Members’ Exhibition Opening Reception

Friday, May 31, 2013 from 6-9pm
Join us for the opening reception of the 5th Annual WNYBAC Members’ Exhibition!
This show is open to all current, new, and renewing members of WNYBAC and will feature a wide range of book-related work: prints, paintings, text, collage, traditional book binding, and sculptural books. The definition of “book” is left to the widest possible interpretation to allow for a diverse exhibition.
This exhibition will be on view from May 31 through July 6 during WNYBAC’s open hours of 12-6pm Wednesday through Saturday. The opening reception is free & open to the public.

Summer Book Arts Camp for Kids!
Monday, June 24 through Friday, June 28, 2013 / 1-4pm daily

This camp is tailored for children ages 8 to 12 years old and will be held at the Western New York Book Arts Center, 468 Washington Street at Mohawk Street in downtown Buffalo.
Projects include bookmaking, letterpress printing, screenprinting, paper crafts, and more!
This 5 day summer camp is $150 per child for members of WNYBAC and $200 per child for non-members.
Drop off & pick up specifics:
Drop off is between 12:30 and 1pm (Children cannot be dropped off before 12:30pm.)
Pick up is between 4:00 and 4:30pm (If children are picked up after 4:30pm a $25 fee will be charged per half hour.)
Buffalo BookFest
Saturday, July 27 / 11-5pm at WNYBAC

WNYBAC will be hosting another Buffalo BookFest, the signature day-long festival dedicated to printing and the book arts. The festival will feature an artist’s market and a complete schedule of outdoor and indoor adult and kid-friendly hands-on demonstrations of the book arts, including steamroller printmaking! This event is completely free and open to the public.
Artist’s Market
Patrons will have the opportunity to purchase locally handmade goods including hand-bound books, letterpress prints, small press publications, and loads of handmade crafty items! The market will be held on the ground floor of the Western New York Book Arts Center.

Flomade, Lily Pickford, Jewelry by Jan Nagle, Junco Press, Olden Designs, Crude Crafts by Elizabeth Switzer, Brave Bird Jewelry & Paperwork, The Great Moments in Western Civilization Cooperative, The Secret Chicken, Tuckamore Design, Papercraft Miracles, Sunnyoutside Press, and more to be announced!
