This year we’re making the event bigger and better, with the addition of Book Arts vendors from the Upstate NY region, as a part of the Wayzgoose arm of the event.
This event is FREE and open to the public, taking place inside both floors of the Book Arts Center, stretching across the newly opened Mohawk Street, and spilling into the adjacent parking lot–you won’t want to miss this festival!
Buffalo BookFest special event highlights:
- Steamroller printmaking all day – Heavy Metal meets Big Wood! Artists from near & far have carved giant woodcut blocks to be printed using the awesome power and weight of the most mobile of printing presses: a steamroller! Festivalgoers will have the chance to purchase these one of a kind massive prints and meet some of the artists!
- Schedule of FREE Book Arts Demonstrations for all ages including –Origami & Hand-Stitched Bookmaking, Letterpress printing of cards & posters, Screenprinting posters & t-shirts, Papermaking, Printmaking for kids, and so, so much more!

Guests can browse through a great selection of hand-printed items, bookbinding supplies, paper, new books, and even local publications for sale in our air conditioned gallery. Because of the addition of Wayzgoose to this year’s BookFest, we’ll have even MORE vendors, selling goods from hand-printed cards to antique type and presses!
- After Party & Kite Flying at The Barrel Factory (65 Vandalia Street, Old First Ward -Buffalo, 14204) – While the day’s activities will all be held at WNYBAC, we’ll head over to The Barrel Factory in the city’s First Ward for some evening revelry!
