Print, Pattern & Patina is group exhibition & sale featuring 3 prominent WNY artists: Printmaker Dwayne Hatchett of Buffalo, assemblage artist Richard Rockford from Clarence, and sculptor Bill Root of Rochester will be Exhibited at the WNY Book Arts Center from April 8th until May 14th 2011.
All 3 artists use found or discarded materials, often byproducts of manufacturing and printing industries. The prolific life-work of Dwayne Hatchett was recently featured in a retrospective at the Burchfield-Penney Arts Center. This show will focus on his deep textured prints exhibited along with his sculptural printing plates. Richard Rockford was featured in a 2009 Exhibit at the WNY Book Arts Center with his reworking of found letterforms and returns with new work. Rochesterite Bill Root uses discarded wooden foundry patterns to create totems reminiscent of multi-hued Louise Nevelson sculptures. All 3 artists approach to found objects complement and contrast each other and will be highlighted for this month-long exhibit.
An opening Reception will take place Friday April 8th from 6-9PM
