letterpressLetterpress Basics Workshop Wednesdays, September 26 & October 3 | 6-9pm
This workshop covers the fundamentals of letterpress printing. It focuses on hand setting type, the basics of laying out a forme, and the operation of platen and bed presses. Students can expect to spend time learning the vocabulary of printing and the layout of the printshop. For all artistic levels, Ages 16+ Build your skills and take our Advanced Letterpress class     Finished pieces will be one-layer and each student can create one of the following: - 3.5" x 2" (approx.) business/calling card - folded or flat 5"x7" greeting card - 8" x 10" poster or broadside Some helpful tips and tricks: - It is helpful to bring along a short quote, saying, or idea of something you'd like to create! - Prints will be one-layer, which typically means one color, but a split fountain or rainbow roll (incorporating more colors at once) can also be done! - Questions? Cancellations with less than 48 hours will not receive a refund. • Sold out classes will accept a waiting list. • All workshops will take place at the WNY Book Arts Center and have no prerequisite knowledge required unless otherwise noted.
