Medieval Long Stitch Vellum Journal
Thursday, April 27th / 6 - 9pm
Long stitch is one of the simplest and most popular of book binding designs. It has been in continuous use since the 14th century and historic models sometimes featured repurposed or scrap vellum and leather for book covers. In this workshop we will use a and a traditional sewing technique to make a pocket-sized journal with a flap and a button closure. The workshop will also include a discussion of other possible materials and decorative techniques for the journal structure.
