JAPANESE WOODBLOCK WORKSHOP

Water-based Japanese Woodblock Printmaking Mondays, July 23, 30 and August 6, 13 | 6-9pm
This workshop demonstrates a non-toxic and table-top relief print technique. No press is required. Participants will learn Japanese water-based woodcut printing. The instructor will also introduce economical substitutes for the traditional tools, which are usually expensive for the water-based printing technique. This workshop will involve 4 days of classes that cover carving, preparing paper, registration for multi-color blocks, and printing. Participants of any skill level are welcome. Cancellations with less than 48 hours will not receive a refund. • Sold out classes will accept a waiting list. • All workshops will take place at the WNY Book Arts Center and have no prerequisite knowledge required unless otherwise noted.
