Blueming Onion
An Exhibition by Alexa Joan Wajed

Blueming Onion is an inquisitive and free flowing exploration of where Alexa’s culinary and visual arts practices converge. Through pattern, line, color and text, her work represents discovery and self-actualization by investigating complex layers of our being. The closing reception will take place on February 26, 2022 from 10am – 2pm. 

The Book Arts Studio Residency invites emerging artists to experiment with various printmaking processes in our community studio for a two month period, culminating in an exhibition of their artworks.  Find out more about the residency program.

Alexa Wajed is a Buffalo born entrepreneur, artist, trained chef and jewelry designer. Alexa received her bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from Canisius College and spent time abroad in Bulle, Switzerland. After years in the corporate sector, Alexa later earned an additional degree in culinary arts with restaurant lived experience in Positano, Italy.

She serves a growing clientele as a personal chef providing Virtual Cooking Classes, helping people understand and adopt healthy eating habits. She is regularly socially engaged through several non-profit organizations while also co-owning and operating a creative agency called Eat Off Art.
