In this workshop, participants will create a variety of book structures and explore ways to turn these structures into unique artists’ books. Inspiration and ideas discussed are inspired from Lynne McElhaney’s design classes and book workshops. Examples of Lynne’s book models and past student’s work will be shared for inspiration.
This workshop will be led by teaching artist Diane Bond, and hosted in conjunction with the exhibition “Books and Beyond: Celebrating the Creative Life and Work of Lynne McElhaney.” Diane is curator of the Lynne McElhaney exhibit. She is a Roycroft Renaissance Master Artisan in Book Arts, member of the Buffalo Society of Artists, art teacher and former student of Lynne McElhaney. Lynne and Diane taught many bookmaking workshops together across Western New York.
