Daemen College Speaker Series: Marketing Skills for Artists

May 27, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Join us for the second of three virtual offerings in the Daemen College Speaker Series, hosted by Book Arts & led by faculty from Daemen College’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship in the Arts Program (LEA), dedicated to advancing leadership opportunities in the arts.

Learn about the business of creating client-driven work and being an entrepreneur in any creative field.

In this hour virtual presentation, Philip Longson, Assistant Professor at Daemen College, will speak to his expertise as a working artist, educator, and professional illustrator. Longson will offer tips including illustrating for publishers and working with and acquiring clients. Though he will speak to his own expertise within the field of illustration, his presentation will touch on universal principles useful for all arts-based careers.

Learn, too, how Book Arts collaborates to create custom printing jobs & provides opportunities for working artists in our Shop. Time for questions will be allotted after the presentation.

The virtual Daemen Speaker Series  is intended for artists and arts curious folks interested in learning about or working in a creative field. All experience levels welcome.
