Hands-on classes in the Book Arts studio!
In this class, participants will learn the intaglio drypoint process, create a hand-drawn plate, and take home a small edition of prints. We will be operating an etching press in the Book Arts Studio to pull our own original intaglio prints. This is an incredibly accessible and intuitive technique that artists of absolutely any experience can partake in. In the class, we will have time to sketch an idea, carve a small plate utilizing an etching needle, and ink it up for printing. Come with an idea/references to print, or be inspired in the Studio!
Things to note:
• Makers of all skill levels are welcome. Suitable for ages teen+.
• It is helpful to bring an image or idea of what you’d like to create
• All necessary tools to participate are provided.
• Please read our ‘Plan Your Visit’ page to review our health & safety procedures.
