FREE Printing Partners Classes with Carnegie Art Center

October 2 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 5:00 pm on Friday, repeating until November 20, 2020

Our Printing Partners classes are heading outdoors! We’re shaking things up this Fall and are so happy to say we’re partnering with a new site, the Carnegie Art Center in North Tonawanda! We’re super excited to offer the same hands-on art making opportunities for families…in a safe, outdoor environment 🙂

The program runs for 8 weeks, with socially distanced classes held each Friday on the lawn of the Carnegie Art Center. Class size is limited, so please register in advance. Classes may be weather dependent, and we will notify studnets in the event of a rain date. Once November rolls around, classes may move indoors or online…we’ll keep students posted!

Classes are geared towards students age 8+, and younger children & families are welcome. Together, we’ll create origami and hand-stitched books, prints & more in simple step-by-step in-person classes!

Please note:

• Class size is limited to 15 students per outdoor class to ensure proper precautions and social distancing. Please wear a mask and follow suggested social distancing protocols. Hand sanitizer and extra masks will be available.
• We are planning on hosting all October classes in person on the lawn outside of the Carnegie Art Center. In the case of inclement weather, we will either postpone or move indoors, and an email and/or phone call will be sent out to class participants noting of the change. The weather of course gets chillier in November, so we plan on perhaps moving classes indoors or online for November…we will keep students updated on any desisions/changes. Thank you for your patience at this time! 🙂
• In the event you can no longer make it to a class, please email [email protected] so we can release your seat to another student. Thank you!

The Carnegie was originally built in 1903 as a Library that was gifted to the City of North Tonawanda by Andrew Carnegie. The building opened in December 5, 1904 and served as a public library for over 70 years. Since 1974, the building has functioned as the Carnegie Art Center providing artistic programming for the North Tonawanda community and beyond. The organization serves to sponsor, promote and encourage the development of visual and performing arts, providing educational and cultural enrichment to the Western New York region. The building features many of the original architectural features from 1904 and is listed on the State and National Register of Historic Sites.
