Register your creatively curious little one for PRINTING PARTNERS, an art program where students engage in hands-on learning about the book arts. Together we’ll explore: origami, soft & hardcover bookmaking, various forms of making prints, and more!
The class runs for 8 weeks with one class led each week. Book Arts teaching artist Ruby Merritt will lead students step by step to create folded origami books, stitched journals, hand carved stamps and more. Each class builds upon the other–by the end of the program young learners will have developed skills to create more complicated and unique pieces of book art!

Demyia Browning (they/them) is an active member of the artistic community in WNY, after being referred to and reading about Book Arts’ mission statement and history, Demyia wanted nothing more than to join the team. As programs assistant, they help with class planning, promotion and communications, material preparation, and hands-on in-person instructional assistance at each class.
Completed in 2006, this impressive, 20,000 square foot facility is located at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Utica Street. The building replaces the nearly 80-year-old North Jefferson Branch Library and has been renamed after Frank E. Merriweather, Jr., editor and publisher of The Criterion newspaper, the oldest minority newspaper in upstate New York.
