Libro Della Notte: The Book of Night

The Western New York Book Arts Center’s newest exhibition, Libro della Notte, will open on Friday September 28, 2012 at 6pm. The opening reception will take place at the Western New York Book Arts Center gallery, 468 Washington Street in downtown Buffalo.

Libro della Notte is an ambitious collaborative fold book featuring original work from 110 international artists inspired by the theme of “notte”, or night. Artists used media ranging from printmaking to cut paper collage to create their own unique interpretative sections. This impressive volume has been exhibited in Italy, Germany, and Spain and was published by the International Centre for Graphic Arts in Venice, Italy.

Western New York’s own Tim Frerichs is featured in this remarkable collaboration. Frerichs has worked tirelessly to bring the book to WNYBAC for its North American debut, and has generously taken the role of guest curator for this exhibition. Additional work by Tim Frerichs, as well as Andreas Kramer and Thomas Rohrmann, will be on view.

The opening is free & open to the public. Il Libro della Notte will be on view through December 1st, 2012.
