We have a new addition to our team!
Last month, we shared that we were on the hunt to add a new Program Manager to our team, and we’re happy to announce that the search is over! We’d like to introduce you all to our newest member of staff, Jameson Alea.

While they’re the newest member of the team, Jamey isn’t new to Book Arts! They learned to do letterpress printing right here in our studio, and then went on to be our Studio Resident in January 2022, producing a tarot-themed exhibition called the Tarot of Sorts. Since then, they’ve been a teaching artist with us, leading various letterpress workshops and helping students make hand-printed tarot cards of their very own!
Jamey graduated in 2012 from Canisius College with a degree in Digital Art and Computer Science. After spending a number of years as a software engineer, they’re thrilled to now be focusing on the artistic side of their background. They’re also the owner and artist behind Fire Ecology Press – feel free to take a peek at what they’ve been working on!
As our Program Manager, you’ll find them organizing our shop, working with our consignment artists, and keeping all our members up to date on Book Arts news on our social media.
I’m so excited to come onto the Book Arts staff in an official capacity! It’s a space that has become really important to me over the past couple years, and I already feel more connected with Buffalo as a whole, working downtown and engaging with the community.
