Open Studio

Print with us!

The studio at the Western New York Book Arts Center is the only community printshop of its kind in WNY! Home to a family of antique letterpresses, a vast collection of vintage wood and metal type, screen printing equipment and more, the Book Arts studio serves as a collaborative hub providing resources to our community of print and book artists.

Our studio is available for use by Book Arts members through open studio sessions, by appointment. To ensure proper stewardship of equipment and materials, members must take our Letterpress Basics Workshop and/or our Screen Print Basics Workshop within one calendar year to gain access to the Studio. If more time has passed since your last Open Studio or Basics workshop, “Refresher” Open Studios are available. Relevent experience in another print shop may be acceptable with a portfolio/project review.

Book Arts also offers Open Studio access through our Gadzooks Volunteer program.
