Printing Partners seeks to strengthen the WNY region as a center for arts and culture by offering long-term arts instruction for children right in their very own neighborhoods.
Our classes offer students a safe space to explore the book arts and create books and prints alongside professional teaching artists. Printing Partners represent the diverse neighborhoods of our city, including: The Buffalo & Erie County Central Library, Journey’s End Refugee Services Making A Connection (MAC) Program, Locust Street Art, Seneca Babcock Community Center, and the Westside Art Strategy Happens (WASH) Project.
In 2019, our enhanced Printing Partners Program celebrated the Erie Canal Bicentennial–incorporating 4th Grade curriculum with the book arts, history, and photography as well as field trips to canal sites! The program brings together three WNY cultural institutions: Book Arts, Explore Buffalo, and CEPA Gallery. Through a generous New York State Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) grant, Canal Connections will strengthen the growth and development of our Printing Partners curriculum and offerings, enabling us to continue to employ professional artists, and impact more school children in our region.
Printing Partners & Canal Connections Book Arts classes are free of charge to all participants thanks to the support of our funders:
