Ladies! (triptych) – Jennifer Farrell

(1 customer review)

$50.00$125.00

This set of posters was created with type so old it could have been used to print pro- (or anti-) suffrage posters and covers topics of everyday sexism that women face today. The text is written in homage to the sarcastic but truthful stylings of The Guerrilla Girls’ ‘The Advantages of Being a Woman Artist’ and recognizes that men are so little affected by policies, taxes and lack of correct information that so greatly affect the day to day lives of women in this country.

I was instantly pulled in by this piece by the font type that was chosen and how it instantly pulls me back in time to the suffrage movement and to the old west. It reminds me of an announcement stated in those times that basically forces you to read due to the over the top font. All of the issues were one I had a personal reaction to especially the third triptych. I feel the fashion the poster was done in is very effective and truly makes them pieces of art and not just feminism posters.
