Linoleum cuts are an easy way to add images to printed type and posters. In this one-day course, students will learn the basics of drawing, carving and printing a relief cut on the Vandercook proof press. Students will transfer their drawing onto a linoleum block, carve the design, and learn the basics of setting up a block along with wood or metal type in the press to print a small edition. All levels welcome.
Val Lucas runs Bowerbox Press, a studio located outside of Baltimore, MD, specializing in letterpress printed woodcuts, greeting cards and custom invitations.
