Bookmaking with Debra Eck Saturday, September 29 | 12-2pm
In conjunction with her exhibition 'embroidered' currently on view in the WNYBAC gallery, artist Debra Eck will host a bookbinding workshop! In this workshop, learn to make a the two signature binding, the same one that started Debra's whole journey into embroidery as binding. This cross stitch binding secures two signatures using a double needle technique. It is a bit fiddly, so patience is required, but no previous bookbinding experience! This binding can be expanded in pairs to make larger journals, or would be perfect like this for a small pocket notebook or a chapbook. We will be sewing on a paper cover, but you could also sew on any soft cover like leather or cloth. During the class, Debra will also talk about the concepts & process of her work on view. Suitable for ages 13+ Visit the exhibition page for more details about Debra Eck and her show 'embroidered'  Cost: $5.00 BECOME A MEMBER
