Somewhere Else: Screen Prints Inspired by Nature
An Exhibition by Rachel DeCicco
on view July 16- August 21, 2021/ studio gallery
This collection of work is based on natural environments, both real and imaginary, I wish to explore or escape to. Each piece was designed digitally and then burned onto individual screens for printing.
Hi! I am Rachel DeCicco and I’m an illustrator currently based in Buffalo, NY. I recently graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design, in Sarasota, Florida with a BFA in Illustration. After moving to Buffalo in May 2020, I learned about the WNY Book Arts Center and started volunteering with them as soon as possible. There I was able to learn more about letterpress as well as indulge my love of screen printing. My work is influenced by the natural world around me and how it changes with the seasons. I enjoy using bright, saturated colors in my designs, while incorporating fun textures and shapes to create whimsical environments. I hope you enjoy my work!
