Volunteers are an integral part of our organization.
The WNY Book Arts Center seeks dedicated, hardworking, and passionate volunteers. Volunteers enable us to continue offering book arts programming and knowledge to the community. Tasks and errands assigned to volunteers vary greatly, from helping with events to printing in the Book Arts Studio, and from merchandising the shop to basic cleaning, organizing, and other maintenance. We seek volunteers who are excited and driven to learn, work, and contribute to our growing community!
Volunteers may exchange their hours for Open Studio time, with 4 hours of volunteering time earning 1 hour of Open Studio time.
Curious about volunteering? We’d love to meet you!
The Western New York Book Arts Center welcomes you to join the Gadzooks! Members are core believers in our mission, and stewards of our equipment and activities.
What even is a “gadzook?!” In typography, a ‘gadzook’ is the connecting piece that attaches two letters together in a ligature. Here at Book Arts, the Gadzooks connect our studio space to our community of printmakers, book enthusiasts, members, and friends! We need your help to keep our collaborative letterpress and screen printing studios clean and organized. In exchange for hard work, you’ll have access to free open studio sessions, exclusive group outings to neighboring book arts haunts – plus drinks, snacks, and good times with fellow Gadzooks at monthly meetups.
